I like to think that I own all my actions, both good and bad. These days reading a material written by Mike McClement from Think Confidence about the 9 secrets of people with charisma I wondered what that means to me?

How many of the people around you could you really say they are charismatic? And if you close your eyes and choose one, what attributes would you use to describe him/her? But what verbs would you use? For me, he/she would be energetic, optimistic, and always open to listen. But somehow no matter what other attributes I would write down, the verbs would clearly all be action oriented! And clearly the charismatic people around me have that "je ne sais quoi" that now looking at Mike's list is actually a bunch of things that someone who wants to add "charismatic" to the personality has to work on.

1. Be authentic - assume your own opinions and have the courage to support them

2. Keep quiet - think carefully before speaking, silence is many times more precious when you have nothing useful to add.

3. Respect - treat others with respect and take time to listen to them and understand their point of view

4. Smile - positive communication is done through smiles, even when you don't feel it 100%

5. Remember the name - work discipline and presence in the moment to remember the names of the people you meet

6. Energy - show it in full, with enthusiasm, even when you feel that their level is low

7. Positivity - this is contagious, as is negativism. Be realistic, but solution-oriented, not problem-oriented.

8. Non-verbal language that supports your messages in an authentic way

9. Prepare - Give yourself time to recharge your batteries to make full use of your charisma when you know you will need it.
